Last Friday night, after a couple of hours in Vaduz, I was about to write something like “Liechtenstein – is it really worth it?”, and then focussing on the tiny capital being a curious, but slightly dull little city.
The next day, I took an early morning walk around town. It was wonderful. I discovered the fabulous old covered border bridge across the Rhine, and an altogether different atmosphere. To me, these early morning walks, watching cities wake up, are essential to getting a feel for a place.
So here’s my lesson learnt: It really isn’t fair to trash a place after spending only a few hours there.
